Rowing on the Tideway is becoming increasingly congested with rowing boats and other river users. It is very important that everyone at the club understands the rules of the river and the navigation patterns that govern it.
Coxes and steersman must have read and understood The Rowing Code.
Navigation pattern for rowing on the Tideway stretch can be found here.
When rowing at night you must ensure that your boat and launch, if one is accompanying you, are sufficiently lit. No lights, no rowing. More information about lighting can be found here.
A risk assessment of the Boat Club can be found here.
If you have been in an incident you must report it immediately. If you need advice please ask the coaches or the Safety Officer. If you have a witness, name them, and get them to write an incident report as well.
