Maria learnt to row when she joined UCLBC in her first year of university. Since then she has progressed through the novice squad to the senior squad, and won gold in the BUCS beginner single scull category along the way. She fell in love with the sport and has worked hard to help run the club too (she was the Welfare Officer for the 2020/21 and 2021/22 seasons). Maria’s mindset for the for the 2022/23 season is to support students participate in rowing from learning to row to competing at an international level, as well as nurture a supportive, inclusive and fun sports club. She will do all of this whilst completing her final year of a Psychology MSci.
